How To Play Le Chocolatier

Le Chocolatier is an easy to learn but difficult to master Euros-style board game. The goal of the game is to successfully collect cocoa beans and chocolate ingredients in order to make chocolates. The game can be played by 2-5 players, and takes about 30 minutes to play.

To set up the game, choose a player to be the first chocolatier. This player will take the large chocolates piece and place it in the center of the board. Then, players take turns placing one of their meeples on any space on the edge of the board. Once everyone has placed a meeple, the player at the opposite end of the board from the chocolatier begins play.

On a turn, a player either moves their meeple one space forward or two spaces diagonally forward, or they may trade one cocoa bean for one chocolate ingredient. If a player lands on a space with another meeple, they must do battle! The player with the most cocoa beans in their possession at the end of the battle wins and takes control of that space. If there is a tie, both players get to keep their meeples.
